1100 Miles of Racing

One of Billy’s favorite days of the year is the Sunday before Memorial Day because he can watch the Indianapolis 500 and the Charlotte 600 races. To get in the spirit of racing, we dressed Addison in the outfit her Uncle John gave her last Christmas.  Notice how unhappy Addison was wearing the outfit. She would much rather wear a Kyle Busch onesie to support her dad. It took lots of comforting to make her happy again (with a promise never to make her wear the outsie again).

To make the day even more special, we decided to barbeque some meat with his new smoker. We made some brisket and a whole chicken. Billy manned the grill for 7 hours to make some delicious smoked meat.

And Another One!

Yesterday, Billy and I received the proofs from Addison’s photo shoot. They are so cute, and we can’t wait to share them with all of you.  First, we will need to choose which shots we want and then we can order the prints. Doesn’t she just look so sweet in this picture?

Play Time

Addison has become more and more alert over the last week. She is beginning to sleep less during the day and look around while she is awake.  So we decided to get out the play mat to see if she would like it.  I don’t think it will be long before she gets the hang of it.

Happy Bath Time

Last night, Addison’s umbilical cord fell off (yay!) so that means she can now get a real bath. So out came her bathtub, which belonged to Cousin Brady. And look how much happier she is compared to her first bath. I think she likes having her bum in the warm water. What a big girl!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

Several times a year, our home becomes divided. Tonight is one of those nights since the Phillies are playing the Cubs. Before Addison was born, we had to make an important decision on what teams she was going to pull for. We decided she would support her dad by routing for the Cubs in baseball (because let’s be honest, who can really hate the Cubs? Everyone loves an underdog.). And during football season, she would support me by cheering for the Eagles. We could not reach an agreement in college basketball so we will let her decide whether she likes Duke or Carolina. So tonight Addison is routing for the Cubs with Daddy, but it looks like this little Cub is worn out.

Shop Til You Drop

Today I woke up feeling less zombie-like because Addison slept through most of the night with only one feeding around 3am. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Since she was so good, I thought I would take her on her first shopping trip for a nice reward. With Nonna’s help, off we went to Pollywogs Boutique, Carter’s and Gymboree.

I finally feel like I am coming back to life with my clean hair and touch of makeup.

Car seat time!

Addison can barely carry all her shopping bags. She literally shopped til she dropped and can’t wait to share with everyone what’s in the bags. (Hint: her first photo shoot is tomorrow)

Meeting More Family

Over the weekend, Addison met more of the Walsh’s. On Friday, she met her Aunt Amanda, who came in from Atlanta. And on Saturday, she met her Aunt Kristin and her cousin, Brady.  She met Uncle Ryan earlier in the week.  We can’t wait until her and Brady can begin playing together.
